Be a Blessing

Happy Sunday!

The divine goal of mankind is the extension of the culture of Heaven on Earth, - Dr. Myles Munroe

The Apostle Paul described it like this, "We are Christ’s ambassadors. God is using us to speak to you: we beg you, as though Christ himself were here pleading with you, receive the love he offers you—be reconciled to God."(2 Corinthians 5:20, Living Bible).  The advancement of the Kingdom is the priority of the Church of Jesus Christ.  God intends for you to be a Blessing Distributor!  Genesis 12:3 says, "I will bless those who bless you and curse those who curse you; and the entire world will be blessed because of you."(Living Bible).  Did you see that?  It says the entire world will be blessed because of you!

Dr. Bill Winston continued the series, "Receiving Your Inheritance" with the subtitle, "Living Large".  God does not encourage waste!  He is extravagant, but never wasteful!  He wants you to get your inheritance in order for you to be a Blessing.  Sure, on the road to being a Blessing to others you will be Blessed as well.  Luke 6:38 says, "For if you give, you will get! Your gift will return to you in full and overflowing measure, pressed down, shaken together to make room for more, and running over. Whatever measure you use to give—large or small—will be used to measure what is given back to you."(Living Bible).   3 John 2 says, "Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth."(KJV).   As our souls(mind, will, and emotions) prosper, our lives and bodies will prosper!  God wants you healthy, wealthy, and wise!  God gets no Glory when you are broke, busted, and disgusted!  Dr. Winston says, "Don't try to make the Word fit your lifestyle, make your lifestyle fit the Word!"

It takes the Blessing to remove the curse.  Deuteronomy 28 describes the Blessing and the Curse.  Verses 1-14, are wonderful, but don't disregard the verses from 15 on!  Take a moment to read them and consider them in comparison to your life.  Deuteronomy 28:38 says, "You’ll plant sacks and sacks of seed in the field but get almost nothing—the grasshoppers will devour it."(Message).  OUCH!  When the curse is at work in our lives our investments don't pay off.   Have you ever wondered where your money went?  Sure, we have.  There are countless songs and sayings about having more month than money!  That's the curse!  Deuteronomy 28:41 says, "Thou shalt beget sons and daughters, but thou shalt not enjoy them; for they shall go into captivity."(KJV).  Another translation of this scripture says, "Your sons and daughters will be snatched away from you as slaves."(Living Bible).  No loving parent wants their children to be snatched away from them, or taken into captivity by sin, debt, or destruction.  Deuteronomy 28:43 says, "The stranger that is within thee shall get up above thee very high; and thou shalt come down very low."(KJV).   Another translation of this scripture says, "The foreigner who lives among you will climb the ladder, higher and higher, while you go deeper and deeper into the hole. He’ll lend to you; you won’t lend to him. He’ll be the head; you’ll be the tail.(vs 43-44, Message).  OMG!  Have you ever complained about the foreign business owners in your community?  Sure, there are systems in place that assist and promote their success...BUT don't give up or give in!  Don't confuse your condition with your portion!  When you are Blessed as the child of Abraham, you have a better covenant, a better agreement!

This is where Faith comes in!  Hebrews 11:1 says, "What is faith? It is the confident assurance that something we want is going to happen. It is the certainty that what we hope for is waiting for us, even though we cannot see it up ahead."(Living Bible).  James 2:20 says, "Fool! When will you ever learn that “believing” is useless without doing what God wants you to? Faith that does not result in good deeds is not real faith."(Living Bible).  Don't miss this!  "The fact is, faith has to show itself through works performed in faith. If you don’t recognize that, then you’re an empty soul."(Voice).  Faith in the Blessing described in Deuteronomy 28 should cause us to "listen closely to the voice of the Eternal your God and carefully obey all the commands".(vs 1, Voice).

Speak Lord...your servant is listening!  Love and prayers, Cynthia

Walking by Faith...

Happy Sunday!

This week was wonderful!  I was able to attend the International Faith Conference Sunday evening, Monday evening, and Tuesday morning and evening!  I wished that I could have attended every day and not had to go to work!  But, I am so thankful for technology!  I can watch the sessions I missed on YouTube.  I know what you must be thinking..."Why would you want to go to church everyday of the week?".   Bruh!  I love the Word, I love the Lord, and the things of God bring me joy!  If I was given the choice between going to work and dealing with stress, unbelief, adult bullying, and hardship or going to church to being with people who believe that all things are possible with God...the choice is easy!  Dr. Veronica Winston said, "The things of God have to be habits!  You cannot just make the things of God an event!"   Of course, we can't hide inside the four walls of the church!  The real ministry begins when our boots hit the ground!  What better way to learn to love the unlovely than to have to work with them?  What better way to learn to walk by faith than to be surrounded by people that do everything they can to degrade and denounce the things of God?  Jesus said, "No sooner do they hear the Word than Satan snatches away what has been planted in them."(Mark 4:15, Message).  So while I'm getting the Word the enemy is working to steal it from me!  News Flash!  I'm doing everything I can to protect the Word that I have received!

Dr. Veronica Winston said, "Whatever we allow to enter our eyes and our ears, has been given legal right to be sown in our hearts!"  No wonder the Word says, "Above all else, guard your affections. For they influence everything else in your life."(Proverbs 4:23, Living Bible).  Another translation says, "Keep vigilant watch over your heart; that’s where life starts.  Don’t talk out of both sides of your mouth; avoid careless banter, white lies, and gossip.  Keep your eyes straight ahead; ignore all sideshow distractions.  Watch your step, and the road will stretch out smooth before you.  Look neither right nor left; leave evil in the dust."(Message).  I shocked a lady last week when I told her I don't watch the news.  Her mouth dropped!  She cried, "How will you know what to pray about?"  LOL!  First, the Word says, "The thing that hath been, it is that which shall be; and that which is done is that which shall be done: and there is NO NEW THING under the sun."(Ecclesiastes 1:9, KJV).  So although the news media wants you to think there is some new way to murder someone, really there is not.  Second, I have to do what works for me!  How's that working for you?  Are you fearful? Are you preoccupied with things that you cannot change?  Are you overwhelmed by the aparent depravity of man?  Ok, before you say I'm hiding my proverbial head in the sand...I do get small bursts of news reports. But I don't binge watch CNN or Fox News!  I also know that what the Word said is coming to pass.  I know that Jesus said, "I have told you these things so that you will be WHOLE and at PEACE. In this world, you will be plagued with times of trouble, but you need not fear; I have triumphed over this corrupt world order."(John 16:33, Voice).  Jesus is always with me!  My priority is the Word!

Thanks for listening to my rant!  Anyway, walking by faith is interesting!  It's daily applying the Word to real life situations! It's guarding your heart(mind, will, and emotions), and it's watching your tongue.  It's believing the Word is true even when the circumstances don't line up!  It's getting back up and trying again when you have failed miserably!  It's knowing you are healed even when the pain still exists.  It's trusting God that his plan is still a good plan to bring you an expected end!(Jeremiah 29:11).

Love and prayers, Cynthia

Protect Your Business...

Hope you are enjoying the week!  Just wanted to share something with you from the International Faith Conference!  It's been exciting and enlightening!  Yesterday morning, Brother Kenneth Copeland and Bishop Tudor Bismark taught again.  Awesome!  Last night Dr. Jesse Duplantis ministered.

Dr. Jesse Duplantis' message was entitled, "How to Protect the Success of Your Business or Ministry".  1 Timothy 1:18-19 says, "Now, Timothy, my son, here is my command to you: Fight well in the Lord’s battles, just as the Lord told us through his prophets that you would.  Cling tightly to your faith in Christ and always keep your conscience clear, doing what you know is right. For some people have disobeyed their consciences and have deliberately done what they knew was wrong. It isn’t surprising that soon they lost their faith in Christ after defying God like that."(LIving Bible).  Christianity is not just about church!  Our love for Christ should be evident in the way we work and do business!  Jesus said it this way, "Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven."(KJV).  Another translation of that same scripture says, "In the same way, you should be a light for other people. Live so that they will see the good things you do and praise your Father in heaven."(Easy-to-Read Version).

Seven ways to Protect the Success of Your Business or Ministry...

1)       Protect Your Mission from the Un-Committed!   -  2 Timothy 3 describes the people we should stay away from!  Hanging around these types of people can prolong the answer to your prayer or the change you need to see in your business.  In 2 Timothy 3:5, the Apostle Paul tells him, "from such turn away."(KJV).  Food for thought: Olympians practice with other Olympians.

2)       Protect Your Principles from the Undisciplined   -  Love in it's purest form is discipline!  Hebrews 12:6 says, "For when he punishes you, it proves that he loves you. When he whips you, it proves you are really his child."(Living Bible).

3)       Protect Your Morals from those driven by Appetite -   Proverbs 25:28 says, "A man without self-control is as defenseless as a city with broken-down walls."(Living Bible).   Integrity is born out of your character.

4)       Protect the Truth from Man-Pleasers  - Jesus told us to be childlike not childish!  Your ultimate goal should be to please God!  Hebrews 11:6 says, "You can never please God without faith, without depending on him. Anyone who wants to come to God must believe that there is a God and that he rewards those who sincerely look for him."(Living Bible).

5)       Protect Your Vision from the opinions of the Complacent  -   Complacent is defined as being pleased, especially with oneself or one's merits, advantages, situation, etc., often without awareness of some potential danger or defect; self-satisfied.  Grace is sometimes defined as God's Riches At Christ Expense, or unmerited favor.  Great definitions.  Brother Kenneth Copeland defined it like this, "God's overwhelming desire to treat you like sin never happened!  Protect you vision from those that think they did all on their own.

6)       Protect Your Liberty from Contollers and Manipulators -  No one's view of Christ is a complete one.  It's only when we come together around the Word of God that we can see more clearly.  Galatians 5:16-18 says, "My counsel is this: Live freely, animated and motivated by God’s Spirit. Then you won’t feed the compulsions of selfishness. For there is a root of sinful self-interest in us that is at odds with a free spirit, just as the free spirit is incompatible with selfishness. These two ways of life are antithetical, so that you cannot live at times one way and at times another way according to how you feel on any given day. Why don’t you choose to be led by the Spirit and so escape the erratic compulsions of a law-dominated existence?"(Message).

7)       Protect and Empower your Mission by surrounding yourself with Proven and Committed people -  1 Corinthians 15:33 says, "But don’t be so naïve—there’s another saying you know well—Bad company corrupts good habits."(Voice).   Another translation of this scripture says, "Don’t be fooled by those who say such things. If you listen to them you will start acting like them."(Living Bible).  Did you see that?  You will start acting like the people you hang around!  Beware!

Seek Him and Prosper...

Happy Sunday!

Great day to you!  I'm praying that you have enjoyed a wonderful, blessed week and are ready to embark on another!  I love you and I am always praying for you!  This week we are enjoying our International Faith Conference at Living Word Christian Center in Forest Park, Illinois!  We are so excited and ready to receive the Word of God from so many inspired speakers.  Visit our web site to get more information and to view the live sessions. (http://www.livingwd.org/).

I always enjoy Barry Bennett!  I hope your don't mind when I share exerpts from him.  He has a wonderful web site full of encouraging and thought provoking articles.(http://www.barrybennett.org/).  When I read his works, I think of my mother.  When she would teach or preach the Bible, she would always tell the students..."God said it, Mrs. Woods didn't say it!"  She was always going back to the Word on every subject.  You may argue with me on my word, but you can't argue with God about his Word!

Delight in His Word, Seek Him and Prosper! -  By Barry Bennett

But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these THINGS shall be added to you. (Mt. 6:33)

God desires to see His children enjoy His abundance. That abundance begins within, in our re-born spirits. Everything we need to accomplish our purpose on this earth and to be a blessing to others can be found within once we are born again. Just as our words can bring forth and create from this inner treasure, our devotion to His Word will also release success and prosperity in our lives. Even under the covenant of the Law, God promised prosperity. We have a better covenant established upon better promises! If we will delight in the Word of the New Covenant and let it fill our hearts and mouths, God’s abundance will fill us and spill over into the lives of others.

Blessed is the man who fears the LORD, Who delights greatly in His commandments. WEALTH and RICHES will be in his house. (Ps. 112:1,3)

Therefore keep the words of this covenant, and do them, that you may PROSPER in all that you do. (Deut. 29:9)

This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way PROSPEROUS, and then you will have GOOD SUCCESS. (Josh. 1:8)

As long as he sought the Lord, God made him PROSPER. (2 Chron. 26:5)

Let the Lord be magnified, Who has pleasure in the PROSPERITY of His servant. (Psalm 35:27)

He brings out those who are bound into PROSPERITY. (Ps. 68:6)

Wherever he turns, he PROSPERS. (Prov. 17:8)

But he who trusts in the Lord will be PROSPERED. (Prov. 28:25)

Beloved, I pray that you may PROSPER in all things and be in health, just as your soul PROSPERS. (3 John 2)

Let prosperity rule within through the Word and it will make its way into your life in every area. All of the promises of God are ‘yes’ and ‘amen!’

Love and prayers, Cynthia

God doesn't need your help...

Happy Sunday!

God doesn't need your help, he needs your obedience!

After King Saul disobeyed and sinned against the Lord, the prophet Samuel rebuked him and said, "Obedience is far better than sacrifice. He is much more interested in your listening to him than in your offering the fat of rams to him."(1 Samuel 15:22, Living Bible).   Religion wants you to believe that it is more important to just attend a weekly church service.  But religion is a form of carnality.  In 2 Timothy 3:5, the Apostle Paul warned him about religious people.  It says, "Don’t be naive. There are difficult times ahead. As the end approaches, people are going to be self-absorbed, money-hungry, self-promoting, stuck-up, profane, contemptuous of parents, crude, coarse, dog-eat-dog, unbending, slanderers, impulsively wild, savage, cynical, treacherous, ruthless, bloated windbags, addicted to lust, and allergic to God. They’ll make a show of RELIGION, but behind the scenes they’re animals. Stay clear of these people."(Message).  Romans 8:6 says, "A mind focused on the flesh is doomed to death, but a mind focused on the Spirit will find full life and complete peace."(Voice).  Did you see that? Full life and complete peace!  Sounds good to me!  That's what I want!  How can I get that?

Dr. Bill Winston continued the series, "Receiving Your Inheritance" with the subtitle, "Living Large".   Carnal Knowledge is knowledge that came through the senses and it is the opposite of Spiritual Knowledge that comes through the Spirit of God.  Jesus said, "God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth."(John 4:24, KJV).  How can we worship in spirit and in truth?  Great question!  I'm so glad you asked!  You are a spirit, you have a soul, and you live in a physical body.  When Adam sinned his spirit died.  Eventually his physical body died as well.  We are descendants of Adam so we were born with the sin nature.  But Jesus is called the second Adam, when we accept Jesus as our personal Lord and Savior our dead human spirit is recreated.  2 Corinthians 5:17 says, "When someone becomes a Christian, he becomes a brand new person INSIDE. He is not the same anymore. A new life has begun!"(Living Bible).  When our spirit is born-again the Holy Spirit of God comes to live within us.

Sounds pretty easy, right?  NOT! Your recreated spirit has to get the agreement of your soul and your body to make changes in your life!  Have you ever seen a born-again person living like the devil?  Sure you have!  Were they really saved?  Yes, but they never allowed their spirit to lead their bodies and their lives.  If they die, will they go to heaven? Of course, but they may get to heaven faster than they or Jesus would have wanted.  Many times these people do more damage than good!  People see them living recklessly, and then are turned away from the things of God because of it!  Don't be that person!  Don't be that person!  Don't be that person!  Pastor Duane Sheriff describes it like this, "2/3 of you is going to rule your life! Your spirit is fixed by God Almighty, born-again, and in union with Christ himself. Your flesh is decaying it ain't any good, and never will get any better. There's one guy that gets the final vote! If this guy votes with the spirit, the soul and the spirit, (the heart) override the body. But if this guy votes with the body, the body and the soul will override the spirit."  In Romans 12:2, the Apostle Paul tells us how to avoid these pitfalls, "And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind(Soul), that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God."(KJV).  When your mind, your will, and your emotions are renewed by the Word of God there will be evidence and there will be change!

God wants you to Live Large!  This World System operates on scarcity.  The enemy tries to convince you that God is unrighteous!  The enemy wants to deceive you into thinking there is not enough!  Not enough money, not enough food,  not enough water, not enough jobs, not enough men and women, and not enough for you!  Don't believe his lies!  There is more than enough, and the only reason he wants you to believe that there is not enough is because when you understand that there is more than enough, and it already belongs to you, you will take it from his coffers!  Jesus paid to get our inheritance back from the devil!  The only stipulation is we have to fight the Good Fight of Faith to get our stuff!  Dr. Winston said, "What you SEE, you believe!  What you SEE is what God delivers!"  You have to see yourself healed, you have to see yourself prosperous, and you have to see yourself happily married!  The world has picked up on this with Vision Boards, but God was making vision boards thousands of years ago!  Habakkuk 2:2 says, "Write down this vision.  Write it clearly on tablets, so that anyone who reads it may run."(Voice).

Living Large!  Love and prayers, Cynthia
