Why do you bother?

 Happy Sunday!

"I wonder why you care, God—why do you bother with us at all?
All we are, is a puff of air; we’re like shadows in a campfire."(Psalm 144:3-4 Message).

In Psalm 144, King David mused about how wonderful our God is!  He blessed God for giving him strength to fight his enemies, protection in every kind of situation, and happiness.  He recognized how fragile this life is, and how fortunate we are to be alive!  Jesus also encouraged us, “So don’t worry about these things, saying, ‘What will we eat? What will we drink? What will we wear?’ These things DOMINATE the THOUGHTS of unbelievers, but your Heavenly Father already knows all your needs.  SEEK the Kingdom of God above all else, and live RIGHTEOUSLY, and he will give you EVERYTHING you need."(Matthew 6:31-33 NLT).

The Apostle Peter explained how we can apply these principles to our daily lives.  He said,
"Casting the whole of your care [ALL your anxieties, ALL your worries, ALL your concerns, once and for all] on HIM, for He cares for you affectionately and cares about you watchfully."(1 Peter 5:7 AMPC).  Timothy was facing extreme adversity.  When the Apostle Paul wrote to him, he reminded him of his godly heritage, and told him, "You see, God did not give us a cowardly spirit but a Powerful, Loving, and Disciplined spirit."(2 Timothy 1:7 Voice).

Psalm 144 ends with this verse, "HAPPY and BLESSED are the people who are in such a case; yes, HAPPY (blessed, fortunate, prosperous, to be envied) are the people whose God is the Lord!"(Psalm 144:15 AMPC).
