Happy Sunday!
Romans 5:3-4 says, "There’s more to come: We continue to shout our praise even when we’re hemmed in with troubles, because we know how troubles can develop passionate patience in us, and how that patience in turn forges the tempered steel of virtue, keeping us alert for whatever God will do next. In alert expectancy such as this, we’re never left feeling shortchanged. Quite the contrary—we can’t round up enough containers to hold everything God generously pours into our lives through the Holy Spirit!"(Message).
This is so encouraging because it reminds us there is more to come! God has a wonderful plan for us and we are not too old to enjoy it! The same God that created the universe assures us that he has a good plan for us and he is able to complete it! Jeremiah 29:11 says, "I know what I’m doing. I have it all planned out—plans to take care of you, not abandon you, plans to give you the future you hope for."(Message). Philippians 1:6 says, "And I am convinced and sure of this very thing, that He Who began a good work in you will continue until the day of Jesus Christ [right up to the time of His return], developing [that good work] and perfecting and bringing it to full completion in you."(Amplified).
Just in case you needed more convincing...Numbers 23:19 says, "God is not a man; he will not lie. God is not a human being; his decisions will not change. If he says he will do something, then he will do it. If he makes a promise, then he will do what he promised."(Easy-to-Read Version).
Love and prayers, Cynthia
