Happy Sunday!
"The Lord will preserve him, and keep him alive; and he shall be blessed upon the earth: and thou wilt not deliver him unto the will of his enemies."(Psalm 41:2 KJV).I've heard it said, "A gift never leaves your life!" Meaning the things that you have sown into the lives of others will boomerang back to you. A smile, a helping hand, a sincere prayer, and a financial blessing are all seeds sown that will create a harvest. When I read Psalm 41:2 after searching the word "blessed", my first question was who is the psalmist talking about? Who is the person that the Lord will preserve and protect? So I read the previous verse. "God blesses those who are kind to the poor. He helps them out of their troubles."(Psalm 41:1 Living Bible). It makes so much sense that Jesus would say, "For I was an hungered, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in: Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me. Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungered, and fed thee? or thirsty, and gave thee drink? When saw we thee a stranger, and took thee in? or naked, and clothed thee? Or when saw we thee sick, or in prison, and came unto thee? And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the LEAST of these my brethren, ye have done it unto ME."(Matthew 25:35-40 KJV).Hebrews 6:10 says, "God is always fair. He will remember how you helped his people in the past and how you are still helping them. You belong to God, and he won't forget the love you have shown his people."(CEV).Love and prayers, Cynthia
